This Country Note focuses on HIV/AIDS among the East African countries. It looks at the inter-linkages between HIV/AIDS and water, sanitation and hygiene in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. Though there are few documented examples of the impact of water supply, sanitation and improved hygiene on the lives of people living with HIV/AIDS, the impact of water, sanitation and hygiene on health and the quality of care of the sick are known and can be applied to HIV/AIDS. This evidence is presented here.
