RWSN & WaterAid: Accountability for Equitable Rural Water Supply in the COVID-19 Era Chair: Sara Ahrari |
Countries at all income levels experiencing COVID-19 outbreaks, implemented different measures such as lockdowns to contain the spread of the virus. Lockdown imposes practical limitations on the freedom of association and collective action, making it more difficult for rightsholders to demand accountability. This session will bring together stakeholders from national and international civil society, government and service providers, to share experiences. The event is convened by RWSN, WaterAid, Simavi, Water Youth Network. Visit our agency page for more information. |
USAID: The Role of Regulation in Enhancing Urban WASH Resilience Chair: Barbara Senkwe |
The COVID-19 pandemic has reemphasized the urgency for action on inadequacy of urban water supply and sanitation service provision across Africa, with fragile WASH systems, limited capacity to absorb external shocks and inadequate government funding. The event will incorporate live discussions, presentations and participant input through live polling. Visit our agency page for more information. |
Practical Action: Managing Our Waste: Why We Need a People-First Approach Chair: Lucy Stevens |
Exploring the report "Managing our Waste 2021: view from the Global South", this session will be valuable to practitioners and researchers with an interest in waste management, and donors and decision-makers who support the sector.
