How a mobile and a toolkit improved water security around health centres in Kenya – the Frank Water / AMREF / ARUP story
Frank Water with AMREF and ARUP will present the action research from Kenya and to share with other agencies the potential to collaborate to create a sector-wide methodology for water security planning across South Asia and East Africa.
We will provide education on the six stage process, created by ARUP in collaboration with two leading NGOs in India and ARUP staff will be at the event to explain how this process worked. AMREF will additionally talk about intersectionality and how health and WASH agencies can work together to improve outcomes for both - a key sectoral discussion at present.
Key highlights:
- Presentation of the six-stage process of the WASH Basins toolkit, facilitated by ARUP experts
- Insights from AMREF on the intersectionality of health and WASH sectors and strategies for collaborative action
- Discussion on standard methodologies for water security planning and their potential for scalability and impact within agencies
- Engagement of participants and agencies in aligning water security planning efforts across WASH NGOs and intersecting sectors
Expected outcomes:
- Enhanced understanding of water security planning methodologies utilised by WASH and health agencies in targeted regions
- Increased awareness of the potential for standard methodologies to drive impactful change and improve outcomes
